On December 1, Tonkon Torp partner Parna Mehrbani was a featured panelist at a program on professionalism hosted by the Deschutes County Bar Association. Parna was joined by Judge John Acosta of the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon and Lisa Umscheid, a member of the Oregon Employment Relations Board, to explore different aspects of professionalism in the legal community. Parna is a past chair of the Oregon Bench and Bar Commission on Professionalism. Her remarks focused on what professionalism means as a legal practitioner, and how to be professional in challenging situations and environments.
Parna is Co-Chair of Tonkon Torp’s Information Privacy & Security Practice Group, and a partner in its Intellectual Property Practice Group. Her practice is focused on intellectual property, trademark and copyright registration, licensing and enforcement, and advising on intellectual property portfolios for local, national, and international companies. She also advises businesses on the management and security of personal data and the laws that regulate the collection, use, and protection of personal data.
