Tonkon Torp Hosts 2017 Labor and Employment Law Seminar

On May 4, attorneys from the Tonkon Torp Labor & Employment and Business Immigration practice groups hosted their annual Employment Law Seminar at the Oregon Zoo for nearly 200 human resource professionals and other business leaders. The 2017 seminar was titled “The Advice is Right – Game Show Strategies to Keep Employers out of Jeopardy!” and each presentation included some feature from a TV game show.

The half-day seminar offered presentations and timely insight into topics including: understanding wage and hour laws; the Americans with Disabilities Act; drug and alcohol policies in the workplace; workplace productivity; worksite enforcement and immigration compliance; and discrimination, harassment and implicit bias in the workplace. The event also included an update on relevant new case law impacting employers.
