Parna Mehrbani Talks Authenticity and Law Firms at State Bar Professional Development Seminar

Tonkon Torp partner Parna Mehrbani was a presenter at the Oregon State Bar’s annual three-day “Learning the Ropes” continuing legal education seminar for early-career lawyers.

Mehrbani and her co-panelist, Bryan Welch from the Oregon Attorney Assistance Program, discussed finding authenticity in a law firm environment as part of the seminar’s “Tips for Joining Firms” curriculum. In their presentation, the two covered such salient issues as managing cultural differences, code switching and masking, understanding one’s values and making decisions consistent with those values, and creating and leveraging a support network.

Mehrbani is a member (and past chair) of the Oregon Bench and Bar Commission on Professionalism. She is a frequent speaker on legal practice issues such as professionalism, imposterism, and diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as on information privacy and intellectual property. She is Co-Chair of Tonkon Torp’s Intellectual Property and Information Privacy & Security practice groups. Her legal practice is focused on intellectual property, trademark and copyright registration and enforcement, licensing, and advising and litigating intellectual property portfolios for local, national, and international companies at all stages of growth.
