Gwen Griffith Presents to Oregon Society of CPAs on Oregon Tax Court Cases

On January 6, 2020, Gwen Griffith presented at the annual State and Local Tax Conference sponsored by the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants. Her presentation focused on the 2019 cases decided by the Oregon Tax Court, in both the Magistrate and Regular Divisions. She reviewed property tax cases, income tax cases, and procedural cases. This was the eighth time Gwen has been invited to speak at this conference. As one conference participant said afterward, “My boss and I come to this conference every year, and Gwen’s session is always one of our favorites. She somehow finds a way to make these cases both instructive and fun!”

Gwen serves as the Chair of Tonkon Torp's Tax & Employee Benefits Practice Group. Her tax practice includes advice to individuals, businesses, nonprofit entities, and local governments on federal and state tax issues. She is experienced in corporate, partnership, and individual taxation matters, as well as international tax. She is the author of several books on taxation and family wealth transfer. She is a sought-after speaker at conferences and serves as a member of the City of Portland Business License Appeals Board.

For those who missed Gwen’s presentation, she will be publishing an article on the 2019 Oregon Tax Court cases in an upcoming edition of The Oregon Certified Public Accountant,™ the official magazine of the Oregon Society of CPAs.
