Tonkon Hosts Seminar for Women Business Leaders

On November 28, Tonkon Torp co-hosted “Thrive,” a seminar for women business leaders, with KeyBank and Geffen Mesher. The annual seminar was attended by over 100 women who hold leadership positions in area businesses. The program featured a panel moderated by Tonkon Torp partner Sherrill Corbett, who drew upon her extensive experience working with women-owned businesses to guide a thoughtful discussion about persevering toward business success.

The panel paired three local women business leaders with their professional service providers. Tonkon Torp partner Jessica Morgan joined Vanessa Sturgeon, President and CEO of TMT Development, to speak about the challenges Ms. Sturgeon faced as a young woman taking over her family’s real estate development business. Annette Joly, the President of Capers Café & Catering Company, was paired with her accountant, Tania Gitch, of Geffen Mesher, while Carla Crouch-Marcoff of Lovett Construction shared her story through a Q&A with Jennifer Fern of KeyBank. The program was well-received by the audience, who shared their questions and comments following the panel discussion.

Sherrill is Chair of Tonkon Torp's Mergers & Acquisitions Practice Group and is a member of the firm’s managing board.
