Tonkon Torp Announces New Partners

Tonkon Torp LLP has elected Drew Hagedorn and Michael Millender to the partnership, effective January 1, 2012.

Hagedorn is a member of the firm’s Government Relations & Public Policy Practice Group. A long-time  public affairs professional, he offers comprehensive government affairs services for Tonkon Torp clients at the state, local and regulatory levels.  Hagedorn represents multiple Fortune 500 companies and key industry sectors ranging from commercial construction to hospitals, Oregon’s public universities, broadcast and telecommunications companies, automakers and various nonprofit industry associations.

Hagedorn earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California and his law degree from the Lewis & Clark Law School. He has been a member of the Oregon State Bar since 1999.

Millender’s practice focuses on tax and employee benefits matters. A member of Tonkon Torp’s Taxation Practice Group, he represents corporations, partnerships and limited liability corporations (LLCs) in federal, state and local tax matters and the structuring of business transactions. Millender is also a member of the firm’s Executive Compensation & Employee Benefits Practice Group, where he counsels clients on retirement, fringe benefit and equity-based plans, and represents clients in tax and benefits disputes with the IRS and other authorities.

Millender holds a Ph.D. from Princeton University and a J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law.
