Drew Hagedorn and Rocky Dallum, attorneys in the Tonkon Torp Government Relations & Public Policy practice group, presented a legislative update to the Oregon Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel (ORACC) on July 26. The attorneys shared an overview of the overall legislative business climate and gave insight into the notable political themes they observed during the 2017 session. They provided an in-depth look at two of the most significant session outcomes, the state budget and the contents of the $5.4 billion transportation package. Drew and Rocky also discussed policy bills of particular interest to corporate counsel under the topics of labor, the environment, and tax changes. They concluded their talk by recapping legislative issues that can impact the growth of Oregon and looked ahead to expectations for the 2018 session.
