Gwen Griffith Provides Oregon Tax Court Updates to Oregon Society of CPAs

Tonkon Torp partner Gwen Griffith was a featured speaker at the virtual 2022 State and Local Tax Conference sponsored by the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants. Her talk, delivered via a livestream webcast, started with a look at charitable exemptions from property taxes. She also reviewed significant income tax, property tax, and procedural cases decided in 2021 by the Oregon Tax Court in both the Magistrate and Regular Divisions. This was the tenth year that Gwen has been invited to speak at the annual conference.

Gwen is the Chair of Tonkon Torp’s Tax Practice Group. She advises individuals, businesses, nonprofit entities, and local governments on federal and state tax issues. Gwen is experienced in corporate, partnership, and individual taxation matters, as well as international tax. She is the author of several books on taxation and family wealth transfer and is a sought-after speaker at conferences. She serves on the City of Portland Business License Appeals Board. Gwen was honored with a 2022 Women of Influence Award by the Portland Business Journal.
