Griffith Helps De-mystify Tax Issues of Trusts and Estates

Tonkon Torp tax attorney Gwen Griffith gave a presentation on “Taxing Thoughts About Non-Taxable Estates” at a March 15 seminar on estate and trust administration, hosted by the Oregon Law Institute of Lewis & Clark Law School. Griffith, who chairs the firm’s Taxation Practice Group, addressed income, property and other taxes, tax issues associated with probate and trust administration, including the impact of the new Medicare contribution tax on estate and trusts.

 

Griffith’s practice includes a wide range of matters related to partnership and corporate taxation as well as estate planning. She is a frequent speaker on tax and wealth transition topics, and is the co-author of Family Wealth Transition Planning (Wiley, 2009), a guidebook for families and advisors addressing family business succession issues.
