Jeff Cronn Covers Business Transitions for Closely Held Businesses

On May 17, Tonkon Torp business attorney Jeff Cronn was a featured speaker at a business transition planning seminar hosted by KeyBank for over 100 owners and executives of closely held businesses.

Jeff provided an overview of legal issues arising in transitions involving the purchase or sale of company equity by company employees. After a live case study with the owner of client Monster Electrical, Jeff shared insight into the importance of the ongoing alignment of owner expectations, the periodic review of buy-sell agreement terms, and the regular holding of annual meetings to discuss longer term strategic issues. He also shared lessons learned from two recent business sales to company employees.

Jeff is Co-Chair of the firm’s Business Department, and is also an active member of the firm’s Corporate and Mergers and Acquisitions practice groups. In his transactional and corporate practice, he counsels entities, executives and owners regarding mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, securities and financings, equity ownership disputes, and other general corporate matters.
