Tonkon Torp supported the YWCA in a series of events relating to their 21st Annual Inspire Luncheon. On April 9, Tonkon hosted Fred Meyer executives and vendors for a dinner event on behalf of the YWCA. On April 10, Tonkon hosted the YWCA and featured Inspire speaker Professor Anita Hill for a reception with donors. Tonkon also sponsored a table at the Inspire luncheon itself. Darcy Norville, president of the board of directors at YWCA of Greater Portland, organized Tonkon’s involvement in the events and attendance at the lunch. The Inspire luncheon, the YWCA’s oldest and largest fundraising event, brings together prominent business and community leaders who are committed to the YWCA’s mission of eliminating racism and empowering women. The Inspire Luncheon was highlighted by The Oregonian in an article which featured a photo of Anita Hill and Darcy Norville.
