Tonkon Torp Attorneys Address Intellectual Property Challenges in the Era of Social Media and Internet-based Piracy

Tonkon Torp attorneys Chris Erickson and Christine Uri are featured speakers at a February 3 Oregon State Bar seminar on recent changes in intellectual property law. They will speak on the topic of protecting trademarks and brands in the era of proliferating social media platforms and internet-based privacy.

Erickson and Uri are members of Tonkon Torp’s Intellectual Property practice group. Erickson’s practice focuses on helping companies protect their trademarks, copyrights, patents and trade secrets. He also advises companies on the value and business impacts of intellectual property, and negotiates and prepares licensing, technology purchase, noncompete, nondisclosure and other agreements for companies with intellectual property assets.

Uri’s practice focuses on advising emerging and mid-sized privately held businesses. She has particular expertise in organizational formation, risk management and strategic relationships and transactions. She was selected as a 2011 Up & Coming Lawyer honoree by the Portland Daily Journal of Commerce, one of just 24 who were recognized by a judging panel made up of leaders from Oregon’s legal community.
