Tonkon Torp has been recognized for outstanding community support of the arts. The firm is among the top 10 medium size organizations honored as a 2009 Business Donor to Arts and Culture in Oregon.
In addition to financial contributions of $14,500 for the year ending June 30, 2009, Tonkon Torp provides significant in-kind contributions to arts and culture organizations and actively participates in volunteer leadership roles. Eleven attorneys or staff members currently serve on arts boards in the Portland metropolitan area.
Members of the firm joined over 400 other business people and artists at the 2009 Arts Breakfast of Champions hosted by Business for Culture and the Arts (BCA) on November 18 at the Portland Art Museum. The firm is a longstanding member of BCA, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to connect businesses with the arts for the purpose of community enrichment and economic development.
