Brenda Meltebeke and Sherrill Corbett Speak to Women Business Leaders

On November 8, Tonkon Torp co-hosted an event with KeyBank and Geffen Mesher for 95 women business leaders. She Persisted was emceed by Tonkon Torp partner Brenda Meltebeke. The program featured three women business leaders who have persisted through challenges and obstacles to achieve their goals. Each speaker was joined by one of their professional advisors to share their respective insight into growing a business in the face of adversity. Tonkon Torp partner Sherrill Corbett joined Kathy Long Holland to share stories of putting together and using advisory boards for your business.

Brenda is Co-Chair of the firm's Entrepreneurial Services Practice Group. She provides startup and emerging growth clients with business counseling and general corporate legal services. She also works with companies at all stages of growth on corporate formation, governance and dissolution issues, financing and M&A transactions, as well as on negotiating and documenting various types of contractual arrangements. In addition, she represents several angel funds with respect to their formation, compliance, and portfolio company investments.

Sherrill is Chair of the firm's Mergers & Acquisitions Practice Group and is a member of the firm's managing board. She works with women-owned or run businesses and counsels clients on buying and selling businesses, forming joint ventures, raising capital and other general business matters. She has been recognized for a number of years by Best Lawyers in America for Corporate Compliance and Corporate Governance law and in 2017 was recognized as Portland Lawyer of the Year in the area of Corporate Compliance.
