Lauren Bernton Offers Law Students Insider Tips on Getting Hired at UO Alumni Panel

Tonkon Torp litigation attorney Lauren Bernton participated in a panel of University of Oregon Law School alumni, offering on-campus interview tips for UO law students preparing to enter the workforce. The panel aimed to provide students with practical advice on navigating the application and interview process with law firms and employers.

Bernton and her co-panelists offered tips on the application process, discussing how students can make their applications stand out, what makes a good cover letter, and what mistakes to avoid. The panel also dug in deep on the interview process, giving students best practices for interview prep, how to manage screening and callback interviews, and how best to follow up after an interview. The panel presentation ended with an informative Q&A with the students.

Bernton is a 2016 University of Oregon Law School graduate and worked with the Eugene, Oregon law firm Gleaves Swearingen LLP before joining Tonkon Torp. Her practice is focused on all types of commercial disputes, including complex real estate litigation, real estate property tax disputes, and bankruptcies. Bernton represents businesses in state and federal courts, as well as in administrative settings including private mediation and in judicial settlement conferences.
