Gwen Griffith recently gave an evening presentation to the Mid-Willamette Chapter of the Oregon Association of Tax Consultants entitled “Anatomy of a Tax Mess.” In her talk, Gwen analyzed four real-life tax messes, exploring with the audience how cognitive biases and assumptions lead to mistakes by even the smartest of people. She then explained the various methods for correcting mistakes and the pros and cons of each, along with introducing processes for preventing such errors in practice.
Gwen chairs the firm’s Taxation practice group. Her practice includes a range of matters related to partnership and corporate taxation as well as estate planning. She is a frequent speaker on tax and wealth transition topics.
