When beloved Swedish retailer IKEA set its eyes on opening a location in Oregon, they chose Tonkon Torp partner Joe Voboril as their local counsel. Joe worked with IKEA to complete the entitlement and transaction details with the Port of Portland and the City of Portland to get the store built as an anchor for the Cascade Station Development on Airport Way. Since Joe is also licensed to practice in Washington state, he also worked with IKEA in 2008 to secure its Northwest Distribution Center near Tacoma, a million sq ft transaction.
