Bringing Costco to Oregon

In 1983, less than a year after formation, Costco was ready to expand from Washington State. Partner Joe Voboril worked with Costco founder Jeff Brotman to acquire land and building rights for its first Oregon store in North Portland. This location became Store #3 in a network that now operates 804 stores worldwide. Tonkon Torp’s work with Costco continues to this day with attorneys Jeff Keeney and David Petersen joining Joe as Oregon counsel.
