Spencer has been doing law-related work at Tonkon Torp for over 20 years. He joined the Bankruptcy team in 2009, and has worked on over forty Chapter 11 cases since that time, as well as many Chapter 7 cases and non-judicial debtor-creditor workouts.

Spencer’s Chapter 11 experience has not only included some of the largest bankruptcy cases filed in the history of the District of Oregon, but also numerous cases for small- and medium-sized companies.  These cases have spanned a diverse field of industries, including medical technology research and development, air ambulance services, RV park management, web hosting and computer technology, dentistry, tractor trailer manufacturing, shopping malls, metal recycling, boat manufacturing, retail grocery, single asset real estate and real estate management, fruit and vegetable processing, newspaper publication, and construction.

He has extensive experience in the review and analysis of debtor’s assets and liabilities, the reconciliation, analysis, and resolution of creditor claims, the preparation of emergency filings and first-day motions, and the preparation of disclosure statements and plans of reorganization.
