Laura is a business paralegal focusing her work in the senior living and real estate industries, regularly assisting with real estate acquisitions, sales, and financing matters. She also works with business clients to ensure corporate compliance, from formation to dissolution and everything in between.

Laura has over 20 years’ experience. She started her paralegal career in Chicago, working with Fortune 500 clients in the corporate finance and M&A realm, and moved to Portland in 2001 where she quickly became an asset in the bankruptcy and creditor rights field. Laura served as lead paralegal for dozens of Chapter 11 bankruptcies, including two of the largest in Oregon history – a regional hotel chain (involving 27 consolidated cases) and the Sunwest consolidated cases (Stayton SW Assisted Living LLC), which involved disentangling and restructuring over 700 Sunwest-affiliated entities related to hundreds of senior living facilities.

As a paralegal, Laura is valued for her ability to analyze and distill huge amounts of detailed data with countless moving parts into relevant manageable pieces. She is well-versed in analyzing financial data with experience that includes: working with client senior management teams to prepare schedules of assets and liabilities that encapsulate a troubled moment in time for a company; reconciling thousands of creditor claims to effectuate distinct reorganization plans; and shepherding business clients through complex transactions from due diligence through closing. Her broad range of experience across industries and practice areas has given Laura an effective big picture perspective to successfully meet client goals.

Laura relishes living in the Pacific Northwest with its immediate access to the natural world. When she’s not working you will most likely find her outside — whether hiking, camping, working on her backyard habitat restoration project, or simply being in the forest areas that abound here in Portland.

Laura is fluent in Spanish (though these days she’s a little rusty and appreciates any opportunity to practice).
