Tonkon Torp Welcomes New Associates Kevin Carty and Zoë Habekost

PORTLAND, Ore. (December 1, 2025) Tonkon Torp LLP is pleased to welcome two new associates to the firm: Kevin Carty, who joins our Business Department, and Zoë Habekost, who will work in our Bankruptcy & Restructuring Practice Group.

Kevin Carty’s practice is focused on corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, securities compliance, and capital market transactions. He is experienced in drafting complex transactional documents, including merger agreements, stock purchase agreements, SEC filings, and other contracts. Kevin graduated summa cum laude from Lewis & Clark Law School, where he served as an article editor for the Lewis & Clark Law Review and was a fellow at the Center for Business Law and Innovation. During law school, he worked as a law clerk in the Special Litigation Unit at the Oregon Department of Justice, Trial Division.

Zoë Habekost’s practice is focused on commercial bankruptcy, receiverships, and advising fiduciaries, creditors, and debtors in the context of insolvency. Zoë is a graduate of the University of Oregon School of Law, where she served as Executive Editor for the Oregon Law Review and was honored with both the Nancy Farmer Distinguished Service and Excellence in Legal Writing awards. During law school, Zoë served as a judicial extern for Judges Thomas Renn and Peter McKittrick at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Oregon.
