Tonkon Torp Launches Real Estate Disputes Practice Group

Portland, Ore. — Tonkon Torp LLP is pleased to announce the formation of its new Real Estate Disputes Practice Group, a strategic addition to the firm’s litigation capabilities designed to serve clients navigating complex real estate conflicts across the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

The group formalizes and brings structure to work the firm has long handled within the general litigation practice, creating a more focused structure to better support client needs and case teams. The Real Estate Disputes Practice Group brings together a cross-disciplinary team of attorneys with deep experience in commercial litigation, land use, construction, leasing, and property-related disputes. The group will represent developers, property owners, investors, landlords, and tenants in a wide range of high-stakes real estate matters.

The group is co-chaired by partners Lauren Bernton and Will Gent, both seasoned litigators with extensive experience handling sophisticated real estate disputes.

“In real estate-related disputes, the legal issues are often only part of the equation,” said Bernton. “Our goal is to provide clients with clear, strategic guidance that protects their investments and serves their overall commercial priorities.”

Gent emphasized the group’s collaborative and practical approach. “We understand that real estate disputes don’t happen in a vacuum—they impact broader business objectives,” he said. “By combining litigation strength with industry insight, we help clients navigate challenges with a focus on practical, results-driven outcomes.”
