Tonkon Torp Attorneys Speak at TiE Startup Bootcamp

On October 17, attorneys from Tonkon Torp’s Entrepreneurial Services and Labor & Employment practice groups spoke to Oregon startups at the TiE Oregon Bootcamp.

Tyler Harkness talked about corporate and business law fundamentals relevant to high growth business models and companies seeking outside investment. Topics he covered included issues related to entity formation, standard terms in shareholder agreements, restrictions on founder's stock, and corporate governance issues.

Blerina Kotori covered employment law principles, including independent contractor issues, exemptions, and initial hiring considerations. 

Parna Mehrbani shared insight into the different types of intellectual property, how to protect intellectual property, choosing and registering a trademark, and the scope of copyright protection.
