Six Tonkon Torp Attorneys Named Portland Lawyers of the Year

Six attorneys from Tonkon Torp have been named by Best Lawyers in America® 2019 as Portland Lawyer of the Year in their specialties. In each community, only one lawyer per specialty is honored as the Lawyer of the Year by the peer review survey.

The Tonkon Torp attorneys named as 2019 Portland Lawyers of the Year for their practice areas are:

Berning has been a business and corporate lawyer for more than three decades. In addition to handling hundreds of complex financing transactions, he has served as general counsel for a variety of client companies in numerous industries.

Greenman’s business law practice emphasizes securities, finance, corporate acquisitions, and counseling companies through the stages of growth. He has been actively involved in venture capital financings, representing both venture investors and growth-stage companies, and later-stage financings – including public offerings. His practice has also focused on structuring and implementing management leveraged buyouts involving both private and publicly held companies.

LeRoux is a partner in Tonkon Torp’s Tax Practice Group. His practice emphasizes federal, state, and local tax impacts on business transactions, including taxation of corporations, partnerships, and LLCs as well as personal investments.

Palmer, who chairs the firm’s Corporate Finance Practice Group, specializes in securities and general corporate matters including public offerings, private placements, corporate governance, and mergers and acquisitions.

Stride is a member of Tonkon’s Intellectual Property Practice Group. He specializes in resolving disputes for businesses and individuals involving commercial matters and intellectual property issues such as patent rights, trademarks, trade secrets, and copyrights.

Wilker’s litigation practice includes advising and representing newspaper and television clients on First Amendment issues involving newsgathering, reporting, and pursing requests for public records. He also focuses his broad-based practice on intellectual property, information privacy and security, and financial services.
