The Fall Tonkon Talk series kicked off on September 4 with guest speaker Jim Huston, Co-Managing Director of the Portland Seed Fund. Jim drew from over 20 years of experience in early stage investing and advising to provide an overview of accelerators and incubators, two popular formats that startups can use to foster their business model and company. He outlined what the founder community can expect from these programs, and answered questions to help audience members determine if one of the structures would be a good fit for their venture.
Tonkon Talks is an interactive educational series hosted by the firm’s Entrepreneurial Services Practice Group. The series, presented along with a happy hour reception on the first Wednesday of most months, provides an overview of legal topics impacting entrepreneurs and startups.
