Tonkon Torp litigation attorneys Paul Balmer and Rosie Fatta received the Associate Award at the Campaign for Equal Justice’s recent 35th Annual Awards Celebration.
The Campaign for Equal Justice (CEJ) was established by Oregon lawyers in 1991, with the mission of making equal access to justice a reality for all Oregonians. As the support organization for Oregon’s statewide legal aid programs, CEJ has raised more than $37 million in its annual fund drives in support of legal aid.
The Associate Award is given to CEJ participants who demonstrate exceptional commitment to and support of the CEJ mission. Balmer and Fatta were acknowledged for their fundraising efforts within Tonkon Torp, achieving nearly 80% participation in CEJ giving and increasing the firm’s per capita giving by almost $100. The two also inspired firmwide support for CEJ’s first-ever participation in Willamette Week’s Give!Guide, securing a match that boosted engagement and helped make the campaign a success.
In addition, Tonkon hosted two CEJ continuing legal education events in 2025: one focused on access to justice, and another on the housing rights of domestic violence survivors.
Tonkon Torp has been involved with CEJ since the beginning, playing a key role in its inception. Partner Kristin Bremer Moore currently serves on the CEJ board and Large Firm Committee while Managing Partner Anna Sortun is a member of the CEJ Advisory Committee.
