Parna Mehrbani Speaks to Law Students at OLIO Employment Retreat

On January 21, Tonkon Torp partner Parna Mehrbani was a panelist at the Opportunities for Law in Oregon (OLIO) Employment Retreat hosted by the Oregon State Bar. Parna’s panel, comprised of attorneys and law firm professionals who work with summer interns, explored strategies for students to make the most of their summer employment during law school. The panelists shared advice and tips on how to prepare for the start of the summer session, how to navigate the people and projects students will encounter on the job, and ways to transition gracefully at summer’s end. They also encouraged students to take full advantage of the professional and networking opportunities on offer and stressed that summer employment is an opportunity for students to evaluate a potential employer for fit while being considering as a future employee.

The OLIO Employment Retreat is designed to help law students prepare for summer legal employment. The event incorporates panels of attorneys and current law students, mock interviews, and networking opportunities.
