Tonkon Torp partner Parna Mehrbani was a presenter at a session for the Oregon State Bar’s 2025 Leadership Institute cohort on September 19. Mehrbani and her co-panelist, Hiroko Peraza (Senior Manager, Lawyer Talent Acquisition & Outreach at David Wright Tremaine LLP) reviewed the key building blocks of a successful law career. They covered how to build and protect one’s professional reputation, developing a meaningful personal and professional network, managing advancement goals, and maintaining a personal business plan.
The Oregon State Bar Leadership Institute is an annual, year-long educational program aimed at lawyers from an array of underrepresented backgrounds who have been practicing law from three to nine years. The goal of the Institute is to foster a bar that serves the legal needs of Oregon’s diverse communities and to develop bar leadership by enhancing the personal development and leadership skills of lawyers from diverse backgrounds.
Mehrbani is Co-Chair of Tonkon Torp’s Intellectual Property and Information Privacy & Security practice groups. Her practice is focused on intellectual property, trademark registration and enforcement, and advising and litigating trademark portfolios for local, national, and international companies at all stages of growth. She speaks regularly on intellection property and data privacy matters, as well as on legal industry issues relating to diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, professional development, and professionalism.
