Pallanch and Forman Discuss Patchwork CBD Regulations for PBJ Thought Leadership Podcast

Tonkon Torp attorneys Christopher Pallanch and David Forman are featured guests on the October 22 episode of the Portland Business Journal’s Thought Leadership Podcast. Their episode explores the complicated regulatory landscape of cannabidiol (CBD).

CBD is an active chemical compound found in the cannabis plant, but unlike tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), CBD doesn’t cause a high when consumed. CBD products in the U.S. have boomed since the 2018 Farm Bill removed hemp from the definition of marijuana. Investors, manufacturers, and retailers alike are trying to navigate a patchwork regulatory environment that isn’t clear about what can and cannot be done with CBD products. In this podcast episode, Chris and David answer questions about the legal aspects of manufacturing and marketing CBD products in what can safely be called a Wild West atmosphere.
