Owen Blank Featured Speaker at Sports Law Forum

Tonkon Torp attorney, Owen Blank, was a participating speaker at the 2013 Keller Forum on Sports Law, held March 8 at Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland. Blank participated in a panel discussion titled “The Booms and Busts of Endorsement Deals.” The panel explored sponsorship and endorsement issues as they relate to athletes, teams and sponsoring or endorsing businesses.

Blank’s commercial and corporate law practice includes considerable experience in professional sports matters. He has represented professional baseball, soccer and basketball franchises as well as NBA executives, coaches and players, and sports marketing companies in various contractual matters. Among his community service activities, Blank has served on the boards of the Oregon Sports Authority and its Foundation.

The Keller Forum gives law students and faculty the opportunity to meet with leaders of the business community and members of the practicing bar to discuss important business issues of the day. Sports law is the topic for the spring, 2013 Forum. Last year’s Forum featured Tonkon Torp bankruptcy attorney Al Kennedy, who shared his perspective on the Sunwest Management bankruptcy handled by the firm the previous year.
