PORTLAND, Ore. – Tonkon Torp LLP has added attorney Mike Doty to its nationally recognized Bankruptcy & Restructuring Practice Group, strengthening the firm’s capabilities in complex insolvency matters, workouts, and financial litigation.
Doty joins Tonkon Torp after founding and leading Doty Law LLC, where he represented financial institutions, businesses, guarantors, and individuals in loan defaults, workouts, restructurings, bankruptcy matters, and business litigation.
“Mike brings an unusual breadth of experience to our team,” said Danny Newman, Co-Chair of Tonkon Torp’s Bankruptcy & Restructuring Practice Group. “He has advised financial institutions and other clients in complex Chapter 11 cases and workouts, served as in-house counsel, and worked on the business side of lending relationships. His perspective will strengthen our work for debtors, creditors, receivers, trustees, and other stakeholders.”
Doty advises clients in complex financial disputes, restructurings, and bankruptcy proceedings. Before founding Doty Law, he spent more than a decade as a finance and restructuring attorney at an Am Law 50 firm. His experience also includes serving as a corporate trust relationship manager at U.S. Bank, as in-house counsel to a financial institution, and as a deputy district attorney for Multnomah County.
