PORTLAND, Ore. (March 9, 2026) Tonkon Torp attorney Mia Gutierrez has joined the board of directors for the Portland Fashion Institute, a nonprofit fashion design school.
The Institute, founded in 2002 as Portland Sewing, offers beginner, intermediate and advanced sewing classes as well as three programs in apparel design, technical development and fashion business. Their mission is to introduce creative people to the apparel skills they need to get a job or better job in the industry — or to simply enjoy a more productive life.
“As a passionate supporter of Portland’s creative community, I’m thrilled to join the board of the Portland Fashion Institute,” said Gutierrez. “I’m proud of Tonkon’s commitment to investing in local education and innovation, and eager to support the Institute’s mission to empower the next generation of fashion leaders.”
Gutierrez is an associate in Tonkon Torp’s Business Department, with a practice focused on transactional, intellectual property, and information privacy matters.
Her past work experience includes a tenure with adidas as legal counsel and manager of their brand protection department.
