Maureen Bayer was a panel moderator at a recent Continuing Legal Education webinar hosted by the Oregon State Bar Environmental & Natural Resources Section for an audience of legal professionals. The panel, which included Nicole Portley (DEQ), Geoff Inch (Circular Action Action), and Olivier Jamin (Davis Wright Tremaine), focused on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) programs and laws that assign producers the responsibility for the end-of-life of products and packaging.
Maureen deftly guided the panel through a discussion on the enforcement of Oregon’s new packaging EPR program and its specific details as it relates to the co-administration of the program by DEQ and Circular Action Alliance. The discussion concluded with an update on pending EPR legislation across the U.S.
