Gwen Griffith Covers New Tax Law at Northwest AFP Summit

On May 17, Tonkon Torp partner Gwen Griffith spoke at the annual summit organized by the Northwest Association for Finance Professionals. Gwen provided an update on the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 and its impact on businesses. In addition to addressing the overall themes of tax reform, she covered tax rate changes, exclusions and deductions, pass through deductions, tax accounting simplification, limits on interest deductions, and international provisions.

The summit is held each spring as a regional collaboration between the NWAFP, AFP of Oregon & SW Washington, the Inland NWAFP, and the Idaho AFP. The event offers professionals with all levels of treasury management expertise a variety of special interest seminars and workshops.

Gwen has a wide-ranging tax practice that cover matters of business taxation, personal tax issues, advice to nonprofits and local governments, and estate planning. She serves on the Advisory Board of The Tax Advisor, the publication of the American Institute of CPAs, and is an author of several books on tax and wealth transition planning. She is a frequent speaker on tax issues for the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants and other organizations.
