Griffith Highlights Current Tax Issues

Tonkon Torp tax attorney Gwendolyn Griffith offers perspective on current tax issues at an upcoming Oregon State Bar continuing legal education seminar.

Speaking on “The Downside of the Upside: Tax Issues of Contingent Payments,” Griffith’s talk is aimed to help attorneys who may not have much tax experience so that they can spot potential problems their clients may face. The all-day seminar is Friday, October 21 at the Oregon State Bar Center in Tigard. Griffith speaks at 10:45 a.m.

Griffith chairs Tonkon Torp’s Tax & Employee Benefits Practice Group, which advises businesses of all sizes and nonprofit organizations on tax aspects of business structure, tax compliance and controversy, mergers and acquisitions, executive compensation and tax-qualified/nonqualified retirement plans. Her practice covers a wide range of matters including partnership and corporate taxation as well as estate planning. Griffith is co-author of Family Wealth Transition Planning (Wiley, 2009), a guidebook for families and advisors addressing family business succession issues.
