Tonkon Torp attorney Eric Levine was a panelist at the 2024 Annual Meeting of the Oregon State Bar Debtor-Creditor Section.
For the continuing legal education program, Levine and his co-panelists offered an update on recent case law relating to debtor-creditor matters. Levine covered Ninth Circuit cases touching on such issues as trustee compensation, arbitration agreements and receiverships, Ponzi schemes, stays, sovereign immunity, and malicious prosecution claims.
Eric is an associate in Tonkon Torp’s Litigation Department with experience in appeals and complex civil litigation. He has authored briefs filed in state and federal courts, including the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit and the D.C. Court of Appeals; and he has contributed to amicus briefs filed with the Supreme Court of the United States. He joined the firm from the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia, where he was a Charles F.C. Ruff Fellow in the Office of the Solicitor General.
