Drea Schmidt and Tom Vogt Speak at Startup Capital & Funding Program

Tonkon Torp was a presenting sponsor for the Angel Oregon Consumer Packaged Goods (AOCPG) Capital & Funding Literacy program put on by the Oregon Entrepreneurs Network. The five-week program is designed for early-stage consumer packaged goods founders in Oregon and Southwest Washington who are preparing to raise capital and scale their brands.

Tonkon Torp partner Drea Schmidt led a discussion panel for the program on “Understanding the Funding Stack,” highlighting paths for funding, investor expectations, and capital strategy. Schmidt serves as Chair of Tonkon Torp’s Startups, Emerging Companies, & Venture Capital Practice Group. Her practice is focused on securities, corporate governance, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate matters.

Attorney Tom Vogt also participated in a session for the AOCPG program, covering due diligence and how businesses can best prepare their company, data, and team for investor scrutiny. Vogt is an attorney in Tonkon Torp’s Business Department with a practice focused on mergers and acquisitions, emerging companies, securities, and general corporate work. He has extensive experience leading due diligence teams in connection with both acquisition transactions and investment financings.

AOCPG supports founders across the full consumer product spectrum – including food, beverage, personal care, wellness, lifestyle, and pet products. Their Capital & Funding Literacy program blends expert-led education through panel discussions, applied learning on each founder’s own company, and direct feedback from investors and industry operators. The program culminates in exposure at a live Angel Oregon Pitch Day.
