Dan Skerritt Chairs American College of Trial Lawyers Jury Committee

Tonkon Torp litigator Daniel H. Skerritt has been appointed to chair the Jury Committee of the American College of Trial Lawyers.

 

A highly respected litigator with more than three decades of experience, Skerritt represents plaintiffs and defendants in complex commercial litigation. He is a member of the firm’s Litigation Department and has achieved some of Oregon’s largest awards and settlements. Skerritt also has been a tireless advocate for equal access to justice and adequate funding of the judicial branch of government.

Skerritt was the 2010 – 2012 state chair of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He is Oregon State Membership Chair for the U.S. Supreme Court Historical Society and is a fellow in and past State Chair of the International Society of Barristers. Skerritt also serves on board of the Oregon Citizen’s Coalition for Court Funding.

 

The American College of Trial Lawyers is dedicated to maintaining and improving the standards of trial practice, the administration of justice and the ethics of the profession. Fellows of the College include civil and criminal lawyers, public interest lawyers, state and federal prosecutors and public defenders who have proven themselves in actual trial practice. The Jury Committee is one of the key standing committees of the ACTL and is dedicated to preserving the right to trial by jury.
