Clay Creps Talks Restrictive Covenants for Law Firm Alliance

Tonkon Torp partner Clay Creps was a featured panelist at the Law Firm Alliance’s 2025 Labor & Employment Conference held in Boca Raton, Florida. Creps and his co-panelists discussed restrictive covenants, with Creps focusing his portion of the presentation on the West Coast, highlighting the relevant laws in Oregon Washington, and California while breaking down the differences between non-competition and non-solicitation agreements and how they vary state to state.

The Law Firm Alliance (LFA) is an invitation-only network of top-tier domestic and international law firms that serve a distinct geographic market and/or offer a narrow legal specialty. The LFA allows clients to hire a Portland-focused firm like Tonkon Torp while also gaining access to firms across the U.S. and the world that offer a similar client service philosophy alongside expert local counsel. Firms that belong to the LFA hold each other to a high level of accountability and meet every six months to share best practices and marketing knowledge.

Clay Creps’ multi-decade law practice is focused on providing counsel and litigation services to employers. He has extensive experience litigating employment-related claims – in federal and state courts – and advising employers on a vast array of employment-related issues.
