Tonkon Torp partner Caroline Harris Crowne spoke on a recent panel hosted by the Oregon State Bar Business Litigation Section as part of their annual fall continuing legal education (CLE) seminar, entitled “Tips and Tricks for Success in Business Litigation.”
Harris Crowne and her co-panelists – the Honorable Rima Ghandour (Multnomah County Circuit Court) and solo practitioner Elizabeth Savage – offered an in-depth look at motions for summary judgment. They covered such topics as different strategic considerations in state courts versus federal courts, effective presentation of the facts, and how to best to structure the argument to facilitate judicial review.
Harris Crowne is Co-Chair of Tonkon Torp’s Litigation Department. In her 21 years at the firm, she has taken more than thirty cases to trial or final hearing and has resolved many more through motions and settlement.
