Carlisle Pearson Joins Tonkon Torp Environmental & Natural Resources Group

PORTLAND, Ore. (February 19, 2026) Tonkon Torp LLP is excited to welcome attorney Carlisle Pearson to its Environmental & Natural Resources Practice Group.

“Joining Tonkon Torp felt like the perfect blend of professional opportunity and community connection,” shared Pearson. “As a full-service firm rooted in Portland, Tonkon Torp offers a strong range of practice areas alongside a truly collaborative team of colleagues.  I’m excited to continue developing my environmental and land use practice in a place that values mentorship, collaboration, and meaningful engagement in the local community.”

Pearson’s practice is focused on supporting clients through complex disputes and projects, particularly in environmental and land use matters relating to eminent domain, unique property interests, CERCLA issues, contract disputes, and permitting. Before joining Tonkon Torp, Carlisle was an associate at Ballard Spahr (formerly Lane Powell). Carlisle also clerked for a year with the U.S. Department of Energy at the Bonneville Power Administration, where he gained meaningful experience in inter-agency negotiations and assisted in matters involving environmental regulations as well as energy, forest, federal land, and natural resource law.

Carlisle earned his J.D., cum laude, from Lewis & Clark Law School with a Certificate in Environmental & Natural Resources Law and served on the Executive Board of the school’s Environmental Law Review. At the University of Pittsburgh, Carlisle earned two bachelor’s degrees, summa cum laude, in Environmental Studies and Legal Studies.

“Carlisle is an accomplished and creative attorney with deep, distinctive experience in environmental law,” said Maureen Bayer, Chair of Tonkon Torp’s Environmental & Natural Resources Group. “I am confident that Carlisle will bring tremendous value to our clients as we continue to expand and strengthen our practice.”
