Tonkon Torp litigator and Managing Partner Anna Sortun has been admitted into the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA).
Founded in 1958, ABOTA is a national association of experienced trial lawyers and judges dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the civil jury trial right provided by the Seventh Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. ABOTA is an invitation-only organization. Members must have at least five years’ active experience as trial lawyers and must have tried at least seven civil jury trials to conclusion, among other litigation experience. Members must also exhibit the virtues of civility, integrity, and professionalism.
Anna is a trial lawyer with a practice focused on business disputes, including contract litigation, owner and valuation disputes, consumer protection matters, and complex tort cases. She has been recognized as a top trial practitioner by Chambers USA, Best Lawyers in America, and Super Lawyers, which lists Anna among the top 10 Oregon lawyers and top 25 Oregon women lawyers. She is also a Fellow in the International Society of Barristers, an honor society with a worldwide membership of less than 750 trial lawyers deemed to be “outstanding in the field of advocacy.” As Managing Partner at Tonkon Torp, Anna is responsible for the firm’s strategy and direction, and oversees the operations, delivery of legal services, and business management of the firm
