Tyler Harkness Accepted into Leadership Portland

12.28.2020
Tonkon Torp attorney Tyler Harkness was accepted into the 2021 class of Leadership Portland, an annual program offered by the Portland Business Alliance (PBA) to cultivate and develop community leaders. Selection for the program is based on written applications and interviews. Recent past Leadership Portland participants from Tonkon Torp include Sarah Einowski, Jeff Bradford, Haley Morrison, and Jessica Morgan.

During the course of the nine-month program, a cohort of rising business leaders from a variety of industries in the Portland community meet once a month to learn about and discuss a broad range of critical issues that affect the region. They gain a deeper understanding of how business, government, and community sectors work together to achieve common goals in areas as diverse as arts and culture, local government, public service, and healthcare, among others.

Each participant also works on a group "Impact Project" on behalf of a nonprofit. Tyler’s group will be working with Blanchet House to help develop and implement volunteer training programs which will help equip volunteers to assist with some of the complex issues that can arise when working with homeless populations. For nearly 70 years, Blanchet House has provided meals, transitional housing, drug and alcohol recovery programs, and support services to those struggling with homelessness and addiction.

Tyler is a member of Tonkon Torp's Entrepreneurial Services, Corporate Finance, and Mergers & Acquisitions practice groups. His practice focuses on M&A, corporate governance, corporate finance, securities regulations, secured financing, and other general business matters.
