Parna Mehrbani Introduces Intellectual Property Fundamentals for Oregon Angel Food

Tonkon Torp Partner Parna Mehrbani led the July 28 session of the Oregon Angel Food (OregonAF) 2020 workshop series, hosted by the Oregon Entrepreneurs Network. Each session in the virtual series covers information to help owners and investors successfully scale a food or beverage business.

Parna delivered a foundational overview of intellectual property for food and beverage companies. She shared the difference between trademarks and copyrights, and provided considerations for label information and protecting trade secrets that contain a brand’s proprietary and competitive information. Parna’s session also included key questions a business should consider before entering into contracted relationships.
