Mick Harris Moderates Judicial Candidate Forum for American Constitution Society

On Thursday, May 7, Tonkon Torp attorney Mick Harris moderated a virtual forum for the five candidates running for a rare open bench on the Multnomah County Circuit Court. The forum was hosted by the Oregon Lawyers Chapter of the American Constitution Society. In his capacity as a board member of ACS, which doesn’t endorse specific candidates, Mick posed questions that explored the candidates’ history in the legal field, their opinions on key judicial issues facing Multnomah county, how they would address adequate state funding for Oregon’s judicial branch, and the ways in which a new judge can support the community at large, and its underrepresented populations.

Mick is an associate in the firm's Business Department. He is a member of multiple practice groups within the firm, including Business Law, Cannabis Industry, Real Estate & Land Use, and Entrepreneurial Services. He graduated with honors from Willamette University College of Law in 2019. Prior to law school, Mick worked as a political consultant, helping pass meaningful legislation and developing winning campaign strategies for candidates on the state and local level.
