Karen Hobson Reviews SECURE Act Impact on Estate Planning

On March 11, Tonkon Torp attorney Karen Hobson spoke about the estate planning implications of the Setting Every Community Up for Retirement Enhancement Act of 2019, better known as the SECURE Act. Along with two other financial advisors, Karen gave an overview of how the SECURE Act impacts qualified retirement plans such as IRAs, and how it changes beneficiary rules. They provided ways to work within the SECURE Act rules to fulfill charitable trust goals, and shared examples of how tools such as life insurance can be utilized to maximize retirement investments and distributions.
