James Hein Looks Ahead to 2020 in Thought Leader Forum

Tonkon Torp attorney James Hein was featured in the year-end “Thought Leader Forum” series published by the Portland Business Journal. The Forum interview, conducted in December 2019, looked ahead to 2020 and explored trends in a wide range of topics including industry growth, technology and cybersecurity, homelessness, and professional collaboration.

The forum brought together leaders from a cross-section of Portland’s business community. James was joined by Steve Holwerda, Managing Director at Ferguson Wellman Capital Management; Vanessa Sturgeon, President & CEO at TMT Development; Steve Fein, Oregon Region Managing Partner with Moss Adams LLP; and Sonia Worcel, Chief Community Impact Officer at Oregon Community Foundation.

The forum guests discussed: areas in which they saw growth opportunities for their clients; how technology and cybersecurity is changing how they counsel clients and operate their business; issues such as homelessness that impact the community; areas of concern heading into the new year; and how collaboration can serve to solve both societal and business challenges.

James is a partner in Tonkon Torp’s Business Department and M&A, and Corporate Finance practice groups. He counsels clients in all stages of business growth, including initial business formation. He is Chair of Tonkon Torp's Pro Bono Committee.
