Robin Jones, CEO of Monsoon, Inc., and a noted Portland-based startup Jill-of-All-Trades, was the featured guest at the June 5 Tonkon Talk. Robin has held leadership roles at seven different startup companies, gaining deep expertise in marketing, partner/developer ecosystems, IP licensing, sales operations, human resources and finance, product and project management, M&A, and fundraising.
Robin focused her talk on preparing startups for what happens after they pass their critical initial screening meeting with an investor. She shared questions an investor would likely ask in the next round of meetings, and gave advice on what talking points startups should weave into their answers. She also gave an overview of the types of diligence materials a startup needs to be prepared to share.
