Tom Palmer and Sherrill Corbett Talk M&A for ACC Meeting

Tom Palmer and Sherrill Corbett were featured panel participants at the May 30 meeting of the Association for Corporate Counsel, Oregon Chapter, held at NIKE World Headquarters. Tom Palmer moderated the panel, which provided in-house counsel with a preview of the role they will play when preparing for and navigating M&A activity that might arise for their company. The panelists shared their experiences from their positions as in-house attorneys, business executives, and outside counsel. Sherrill Corbett provided perspective as outside counsel who frequently works with in-house lawyers to help them complete M&A transactions – as a buyer or a target.

Tom’s practice emphasizes securities and general corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, and private placements. He is the recent Past Chair of Tonkon Torp’s Corporate Finance & Transactions Practice Group.

Sherrill is a member of Tonkon Torp’s Managing Board, and recent Past Chair of the firm's Mergers & Acquisitions Practice Group. She works with businesses of all sizes and focuses a portion of her practice on women-owned and women-run businesses. She counsels clients on buying and selling businesses, forming joint ventures, raising capital, and other general business matters.
