Tonkon Torp Managing Partner Darcy Norville has been honored by the Portland Business Journal as one of its 2019 Women of Influence. The highly regarded award recognizes women who are business and community leaders in the greater Portland area.
Judging is based on career accomplishments, business influence and leadership, and community and civic involvement. Darcy’s Women of Influence class will be celebrated at an April 11 luncheon.
Leading by Example
Darcy has made her mark in every leadership position she has held. In her current role as Managing Partner, she recently led the firm through a process of defining the firm’s strongest business opportunities and growth potential, leading to an updated and clarified Strategic Plan. She has guided the firm through a complete rebrand, and has taken a leadership role in attracting key new partners and lateral lawyers to the firm.

Darcy also served productive terms as the Chair of the Hiring Committee, and as a Member of the firm's Managing Board since 2005. She formed the firm's Diversity & Inclusion Committee in 2004 and has served as Chair of that Committee since its inception.
Rich Civic Involvement
Darcy has worked for decades with various civic and community organizations. Just one of the service achievements that helped her to stand out from hundreds of other nominees is her long involvement in the Campaign for Equal Justice ("CEJ"). Darcy started her legal career as a Legal Aid attorney, and has always deeply believed in the mission of CEJ to support Oregon’s statewide legal aid programs.
After noting that she considers Darcy one of the founders of CEJ, Maya Crawford Peacock, the Executive Director of CEJ goes on to share, "I have known Darcy for many years and have worked with her in a variety of different capacities. She understands deeply that in order to maintain the integrity of our system of justice, it must be accessible to everyone. She is committed to doing her part to make this goal a reality. Darcy has been instrumental in building a culture of support for equal justice among Oregon lawyers."
